Sourav Ganguly to captain Pune Warriors in IPL 5

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly will lead Pune Warriors India as captain and mentor in the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket tournament beginning on April 4, team owners Sahara India announced today.
The franchise owners also announced that the team would don new turquoise blue and silver color jerseys.
"Turquoise blue color stands for zeal, confidence and victory, the very attributes and motto of a Warrior," a statement from the team said.
“We are extremely proud that the legendary all-rounder and one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket team, Sourav Ganguly, is the captain and mentor of Pune Warriors India in this season of IPL. I am sure that his experience, expertise and deep understanding of the nuances of the game will definitely infuse an exemplary spirit of passion and commitment amongst the members of the team.”
The team's bowling coach will be Allan Donald while Praveen Amre will be the batting coach. Paddy Upton is the mental conditioning and high performance coach of the team.
Formed in 2010, Pune Warriors India is the Pune franchise of the IPL. The franchise is owned by Sahara Adventure Sports Limited, a group company of Sahara India Pariwar, a leading business conglomerate and promoter and patron of sports.
The franchise made its debut in the fourth season of IPL in 2011, when it was captained by star Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who is now undergoing treatment for cancer in the United States.
