SpiceJet launches direct flights on Delhi-Kishangarh route

Low-cost carrier SpiceJet today launched daily direct services on the Delhi-Kishangarh-Delhi route, providing connectivity from the national capital to places such as Ajmer and Pushkar in Rajasthan.
The marble city of Kishangarh -- located 33 km from Ajmer and 45 km from Pushkar -- will be Spicejet's eighth destination in  the country and the second in Rajasthan (after Jaisalmer) under UDAN, the government's regional connectivity scheme.
SpiceJet is the first and only carrier to offer daily direct air connectivity between Kishangarh and Delhi, a perss release from the airline said.
Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet said, “SpiceJet is proud to put Kishangarh (Ajmer) on the country’s aviation map and connect it with Delhi and multiple domestic and international destinations on our network. The new flight services will unleash the tourism potential of the city like never before providing a convenient mode of travel for the millions of tourists and pilgrims who visit Ajmer and Pushkar. The new flight will also provide a boost to traders and businesses of the marble city.”
Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India. The city is home to the famous Jagatpita Brahma Temple considered to be one of the five sacred pilgrimage destinations for Hindus.
The famous Ajmer Sharif Dargah of Sufi Saint Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti located at Ajmer attracts millions of people every year from India and abroad. The new daily flight will provide pilgrims and tourists a much better access to Ajmer and Pushkar, the release said.
SpiceJet will be deploying its Bombardier Q-400 aircraft on the route.
