Doctors treating spiritual leader Sri Sathya Sai Baba at a hospital in Puttaparthy in Andhra Pradesh today said that he continued to be in a critical state of health.
"His vital systems, including liver, are showing minimal response to the treatment, which is a cause of worry for the treating doctors," a bulletin issued by the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences this morning said.
It said that Sai Baba continued to be on ventilatory support and on CRRT, a slow form of dialysis.
"His blood pressure continues to show periodic fluctuations, which is being corrected by appropriate drugs," the bulletin said.
It said the panel of doctors attending on him was keeping a close, constant watch on his health parameters.
The 85-year-old Sai Baba was admitted to the hospital on March 28, following pneumonia and respiratory problems.
