Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) after he complained of blood sugar and high blood pressure, sources said today.
According to a close aide of the 63-year-old Prasad, who is a former Union Minister for Railways and former Chief Minister of Bihar, was suffering from a urinary tract infection, which had given rise to some of the other symptoms.
He was taken to the hospital yesterday evening, when doctors advised him to get admitted so that they could conduct a complete medical check-up on him. His condition was much better now, the aide said.
A spokesperson for the hospital said Prasad had been admitted for a routine medical check-up.
