Three talented youngsters -- Arunima Sinha, a mountaineer with disabilities, pianist Utsav Lal and actor-director Kishan Shrikanth -- have been chosen for the 4th TiE-Aspire Young Achiever Awards by the New Delhi-NCR chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and Aspire.
Arunima, 26, of Uttar Pradesh, climbed the 21,110 feet Mount Chhamser Kangri with an amputated leg and is a national level football and volleyball player. She had to undergo amputation of her left lower limb after she was thrown off a running train in Bareilly, for resisting a chain-snatching attempt.
"Her passion and undying will has become a source of inspiration for all people with disabilities," a press release from TiE said.
Delhi-based Pianist Utsav Lal, 20, is called the "Raga pianist" for successfully creating the pure sounds of Indian ragas on the piano. He has presented over 150 recitals of Indian music around the world since the age of 9.
Kishan, 16, of Bangalore, is an actor, film director, editor, and sound and visual effects engineer. He has been recognised as a young genius on the Oprah Winfrey show and holds the Guinness Book record for being the world's youngest feature film director when he directed a film at the age of 9.
He has won several awards and is pursuing studies in multimedia and animation and in the fields of holography and optical illusion.
The awards will be presented to the young achievers here on September 28 during TiEcon Delhi 2012, the flagship event of TiE Delhi-NCR and one of the world's largest conferences for entrepreneurs.
At a special session on September 28 evening the three young achievers will their share experiences and success stories with Mr. Amit Bhatia, Founder & CEO, Aspire Human Capital Management.
