In view of US President Donald Trump's visit to Ahmedabad on Monday, airlines have come out with advisories for their passengers scheduled to travel out of the city and asked them to reach the Ahmedabad airport at least three hours prior to the departure time.
All the major airlines, Air India, SpiceJet, IndiGo, Vistara and GoAir tweeted that heavy traffic, roadblocks and stringent security checks are expected on the route to the airport between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Monday, February 24.
They also asked the passengers to carry a hard copy of their itinerary and a photo identity card to access the blocked roads and said that only passengers will be allowed to proceed, while no accompanying person would be permitted.
"Passengers travelling from #Ahmedabad Airport may kindly note that security arrangements have been made in view of arrival of US President on 24th Feb, between 0800-1600 hrs on road leading to airport," Air India said in a tweet on Sunday.
"Passengers with physical copy of Ticket and Photo ID will be allowed to enter the cordoned area. Please be at airport at least 3 hrs before departure time," said another tweet from the national carrier.
Trump will be on his first official visit to India after becoming the US President. His two-day visit will start on Monday when his Air Force One flight lands at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around noon on February 24.
