Modi to inaugurate Kanpur Metro Rail, attend convocation of IITK on Tuesday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a completed section of the Kanpur Metro Rail project and launch the Bina-Panki multi=product pipeline during a day's visit to Uttar Pradesh today.
He will also attend the 54th convocation of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur when digital degrees would be presented by him to the students for the first time.
The digital degrees for IIT students have been developed at the institute under the National Blockchain Project for the first time. The speciality of these digital degrees is that they can be verified globally.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will travel by a metro train and inspect the 9-km stretch from IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel.
The entire length of the metro rail project in Kanpur is 32 km and it is being built at a cost of over Rs 11,000 crore.
The Bina-Panki multiproduct pipeline project, built at a cost of over Rs 1500 crore, is 356 km long and has a capacity of about 3.45 million metric tonnes per annum. Stretching from Bina Refinery in Madhya Pradesh to Panki in Kanpur, the project will help transport petroleum products from Bina Refinery to this region.
