Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L K Advani today said Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat had given his blessings for his proposed "yatra" against corruption from October 11.
Emerging from a closed-door meeting with the RSS supremo at the Sangh's headquarters in the city, Mr Advani told reporters that his yatra would cover all the states of the country.
"I believe in good governance and clean politics. Looking at the scandals and dirty politics all around, I have decided to take a round of the country through my yatra," he said.
About his meeting with the RSS chief, Mr Advani said, "We often talk with him on different issues and discuss matters of mutual interest."
On talks about him being a Prime ministerial candidate in the next General Elections, Mr Advani said, "India has given me a lot more than the post of Prime Minister."
Mr Advani also met BJP national president Nitin Gadkari, who recently underwent surgery for diabetes, and enquired about his health. Mr Advani briefed him about his yatra and said its final schedule would be officially announced later by Mr Gadkari.
Later, Mr Advani had lunch with Mr Gadkari and then left for Delhi.
