President, VP, PM greet people on Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Cheti Chand, Chaitra Sukladi, Navreh

President Pratibha Patil, Vice-President M Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today greeted the people on the occasion of Chaitra Sukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padava, Cheti Chand, Navreh and Sajibu Cheiraoba, which will be celebrated tomorrow.

"I send my greetings to all those celebrating these festivals in different parts of the country. May these festivals, strengthen the bonds of unity amongst the people of different regions of the country," Patil said.
Ansari noted that these festivals are celebrated in different parts of the country in diverse traditional ways with enthusiasm and gaiety and mark the onset of the traditional New Year. 
"May these occasions bring joy, peace and prosperity in the lives of all," he added.
Singh said these festivals, which herald the arrival of New Year, represent the vast cultural diversity, and the common thread of unity across the country. 
"May the coming year usher in prosperity, peace and harmony for all," he added.
