Prasad, Javadekar, 10 other Ministers resign ahead of Cabinet reshuffle

Union Law and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and Information & Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar are among the 12 members of the Union Council of Ministers who resigned today ahead of this evening's Cabinet reshuffle.
The others who have resigned include Health Minister Harsh Vardhan, Chemicals and Fertilisers Ministers D V Sadananda Gowda, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thaawarchand Gehlot, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishank" and Labour and Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar.
Babul Supriyo, Sanjay Dhotre, Rattan Lal Kataria, Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Debasree Chaudhari are the others who have put in their papers.
Of them, Gehlot was yesterday named as the new Governor of Karnataka.
A press communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan said President Ram Nath Kovind, as advised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had accepted the resignation of these Ministers with immediate effect.
