NDRF deploys 14 teams in Gujarat to cope with cyclone Nilofar

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 14 rescue and relief teams comprising more than 550 personnel in Gujarat with boats and other flood rescue equipment as proactive measures to cope with cycone Nilofar in the Arabian Sea that is expected to cross the coast near Naliya in Kutch district in the forenoon of November 1.
An official press release said one team each is deployed at Somnath, Gandhidam, Dwarka, Porbandar, Junagarh, Veeraval, Rajkot and Vadodara while two teams each have been deployed in Surat, Kutch and Bhuj. 
In addition, two more teams are deployed in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. 
Mr Randeep Rana, DIG, NDRF is being sent to coordinate the NDRF operations with State authorities at Gandhinagar, the release added.
