Low-cost carrier IndiGo has announced that it will launch a service between Agra and Bengaluru with effect from March 5 under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS).
The City of the Taj will be IndiGo's 63rd domestic and 86th overall destination, a press release from the airline said.
Agra will be the fifth city in Uttar Pradesh to be connected by IndiGo to its expansive domestic and international network. The airline already operates flights to and from Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Varanasi. The airline will operate daily non-stop flights on the Agra-Bangalore route, the release said.
William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, “These flights will enable us to offer point-to-point connectivity from a city which houses one of the wonders of the world, witnesses an exceptional tourist footfall, and hence high demand for connectivity. Operating exclusively on the Agra-Bangalore route under the government’s UDAN scheme, IndiGo flights will promote trade and tourism in the region through increased mobility”.
