IMD forecasts widespread rainfall, snowfall over J&K, Himachal during next 24 hours

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) today said that fairly widespread rainfall or snowfall was very likely over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the next 24 hours under the influence of a fresh Western disturbance as an upper air cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and neighbourhood.
A press release from the IMD said that, under the influence of the above system, scattered rainfall was also very likely over Uttarakhand during the next 24 hours.
The release said the minimum temperatures were likely to fall by 3-5 C during the next four days, thereby resulting in cold wave conditions over Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan and Gujarat from December 16 to 18.
It said dense to very dense fog was very likely at many places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and north Rajasthan on December 14 and at a few places over the same region on December 15, especially during morning hours.
