The Government has announced revised guidelines for the grant of Group Pilgrim Visa as part of efforts to streamline the procedure for issuing such visas to people of minority communities in Pakistan who wish to visit India and are facing problems.
An official press release said that members of minority communities in Pakistan coming on Group Pilgrim Visa issued by the High Commission of India in Islamabad were facing difficulties with regard to reporting to the Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) concerned at the place of their visit.
An official press release from the Ministry of Home Affairs said that, under the revised guidelines, relaxation had also been granted to facilitate their entry and stay in India.
The new guidelines allow the number in each group to 50 and every group to have a group leader. The individual members of the group will not be required to report to the FRO concerned. The group leader will only be responsible for reporting to the Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) concerned at each place of visit within 24 hours of arrival at the specified place of stay, the release added.
