Essar Projects bags Rs 286 crore water pipeline project in Gujarat

Engineering and construction major Essar Projects today said it had won a Rs 286 crore engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract  from Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited for a 2300 mm x 51 km water pipeline system.
The pipeline will be part of the ambitious Bulk Water Transmission System Project being implemented by the Gujarat Government. The project is scheduled for completion in 12 months, a press release from the company said.
The release said the project was one of the eight packages of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Canal-based drinking water supply project, which aims at supplying water to all the rural and urban areas of the seven districts of Saurashtra, Kutch region and parts of Ahemdabad, Sabarakantha and Mehsana districts of North Gujarat and Panchmahals district.
M S Ambegaonkar, Director Business Development, Essar Projects, said, “Essar Projects has been successfully bidding and winning new business in the open market. This award from GWIL is a testimony to our competitive capabilities in the EPC space in India.”
Essar Projects, a part of the Essar Group, is currently bidding for as well as executing multi-million dollar contracts in SE Asia, Australasia, Middle East & Africa, the release added.
