India's domestic airlines carried a total of 11.853 million passengers in the first quarter of 2010 as against 9.822 million passengers in the same period of last year.
Of these, Kingfisher Airlines accounted for 2.684 million passengers, Jet Airways for 2.216 million, Air India 2.090 million, Indigo 1.776 million, Spice Jet 1.428 million, Jet Lite 0.838 million, Go Air 0.637 million and Paramount 0.184 million.
The airlines carried 3.903 million passengers in March this year. Of these, Kingfisher accounted for 0.899 million, Jet Airways 0.739 million, Air India 0.693 million, IndiGo 0.574 million, Spice Jet 0.463 million, Jet Lite 0.279 million, Go Air 0.206 million and Paramount 0.050 million.
Kingfisher had 22.6 per cent share of the domestic passengers in the first quarter, followed by Jet Airways with 18.7 per cent, Air India 17.6 per cent, IndiGo with 15 per cent, Spice Jet with 12 per cent, Jet Lite 7.1 per cent, Go Air with 5.4 per cent and Paramount 1.6 per cent.
Paramount had the highest seat factor in March at 84.7 per cent, followed by IndiGo with 74 per cent, Spice Jet 73.5 per cent, Jet Lite 72.9 per cent, Jet Airways 70.3 per cent, Kingfisher 70.1 per cent, Go Air 70 per cent and Air India 66.5 per cent, an official press release added.
