Delhi airport: Cars to drive through Multi-Level Car Park at T3 arrival for three days
New Delhi, June 16, 2021
All private and commercial vehicles coming to the T3 Arrival area at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) will have to drive through the Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) for three days starting Thursday between 1600 hrs and 1900 hours because of maintenance works being carried out at the airport.
"This temporary shift of cars from Lane 3 of Terminal 3 forecourt to the Multi-Level Car Parking (MLCP) area has been decided due to the planned maintenance works at the forecourt area of T3," a press release from Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said.
Under this plan, all private vehicles will be allowed a free period of three hours to pick the passenger and exit the MLCP parking area at Terminal 3.
The vehicles will be moved to MLCP Level 1 and Level 2 for the passengers to be picked up. However, the commercial vehicles will be charged as per the current parking rates in Lane 3," the release said.
Passengers and their family members reaching the airport will be guided through signage and barriers at the entry to Lane 3. In addition to the Traffic Authorities, DIAL will also deploy Raxa Guards, who will help direct these vehicles to reach the MLCP. Additionally, passengers can also get updates through Delhi Airport’s social media handles.
"During the maintenance work, there will be limited space in the forecourt area and sufficient area will be available for pick up in MLCP to help the passengers commuting further from the airport. The MLCP is equipped with several services, such as F&B counters, ATMs, washrooms, baby care room, waiting lounge, mobile charging stations etc. The MLCP has been set to provide a safe and controlled parking/ pick-up experience to passengers," the release added.
The GMR Group-led DIAL is a consortium; comprising the GMR Group, Airports Authority of India and Fraport. The consortium has a mandate to finance, design, build, operate and maintain the Delhi Airport for 30 years with an option to extend it by another 30 years.
