R S Sharma, Nandan Nilekani among members of Advisory Council on Open Network for Digital Commerce

National Health Authority CEO R S Sharma and Infosys non-executive Chairman Nandan Nilekani are among the members of an advisory council constituted by the Government to advise it on measures needed to design and accelerate adoption of the Open Netowrk for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry has initiated the project on ONDC and the task has been assigned to Quality Council of India (QCI).
"ONDC aims at promoting open networks developed on open sourced methodology, using open specifications and open network protocols independent of any specific platform. ONDC is expected to digitize the entire value chain, standardize operations, promote inclusion of suppliers, derive efficiencies in logistics and enhance value for consumers," an official press release said.
The other members of the advisory council are:

Dilip Asbe, MD & CEO, NPCI

Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, RAI
The Additional Secretary (ITeC), DPIIT shall be the convener of the council, the release added.
