Petroleum & Natural Gas Ministry warns against fake advertisement on allotment of dealerships

The Petroleum & Natural Gas Ministry has cautioned the people against falling prey to a fake advertisement issued its name on allotment of dealerships and distributorships of petroleum products.
“It has come to the notice of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas that some unscrupulous persons by using name and logo of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas have issued an advertisement in a section of media on 26.2.2018 regarding the special scheme for direct allotment of dealership/ distributorship of petroleum products," an official press release said.
“Through this press release, it is clarified that Union Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has not issued any advertisement for direct allotment of dealership/ distributorship of petroleum products.  
“It is further informed that Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has no role in the appointment of dealers/ distributors. The Oil Marketing Companies, based on their feasibility study, identify the locations and issue advertisement for appointment of dealers as per the respective selection guidelines,” the release said.
“The general public are accordingly advised not to take notice of such advertisement/scheme. Prima facie, it appears that some unscrupulous elements are misusing the name of this Ministry and appropriate action is being initiated against those involved in the issue of this fake advertisement,” it added.
