India's exports dip by 15.82% to $ 22.289 bililion in June 2015

India's merchandise exports fell for the seventh consecutive month in June 2015, dipping by 15.82 percent to $ 22.289 billion from $ 26.48 billion in the same month of the previous year.
An official statement said here today that, in rupee terms, the exports went down by 10 percent to Rs. 142341.88 crore in June this year from the level of Rs. 158165.21 crore during the corresponding month of 2014.
The cumulative value of exports for the period April-June 2015-16 was $ 66.691 billion (Rs. 423315.24 crore) as against $ 80.112 billion (Rs. 478928.90 crore), registering a negative growth of 16.75 per cent in dollar terms and 11.61 per cent in rupee terms over the same period last year.
According to the statement, impots during June, 2015 were valued at $33.116 billion (Rs. 211484.61 crore) which was 13.40 per cent lower in dollar terms and 7.42 per cent lower in rupee terms  over the level of imports valued at $ 38.243 billion (Rs. 228427.88 crore) in June, 2014. 
The cumulative value of imports for the period April-June 2015-16  was $98.916 billion (Rs. 627830.30 crore) as against $ 113.196 billion (Rs. 676694.53 crore), registering a negative growth of 12.61 per cent in dollar terms and 7.22 per cent in rupee terms over the same period last year.
The statement said oil imports during June, 2015 were valued at $8.676 billion which was 34.97 per cent lower than oil imports valued at $13.343 billion in the corresponding period last year. Oil imports during April-June, 2015-16 were valued at $ 24.658 billion which was 39.54 per cent lower than the oil imports of $ 40.785 billion in the corresponding period last year. 
Non-oil imports during June, 2015 were estimated at $24.44 billion which was 1.85 per cent lower than non-oil imports of $24.9 billion in June, 2014. Non-oil imports during April-June, 2015-16 were valued at $ 74.258 billion which was 2.55 per cent higher than the level of such imports valued at $ 72.411 billion in April-June, 2014-15.
The trade deficit for April-June, 2015-16 was estimated at $ 32.226 billion which was lower than the deficit of $ 33.084 billion during April-June, 2014-15, the statement added.
