Public sector Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), the supplier of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Rewari, has said that it has crossed the one million-mark for domestic PNG connections in the National Capital Region (NCR).
A press release from the company said it had connected one million domestic kitchens through its network in Delhi and the other towns in NCR.
This was part of the Government's vision for expansion of the PNG network in the country in a mission mode, it said.
IGL is a joint venture of public sector GAIL (India) Limited and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
Mr. E.S. Ranganathan, Managing Director, IGL reiterated the commitment of IGL towards maintaining highest level of safety standards in its operations and appealed to all the customers to strictly follow the safety precautions as disseminated by IGL from time to time.
He said it would be endeavor of IGL to better its record of having already provided over 1,50,000 new PNG connections in 2017-18 by expanding the network into new geographies, covering new colonies and increasing PNG penetration in the already covered colonies in the current financial year.
"IGL is well on course for the same having already connected over one lakh new domestic kitchens in less than seven months in the ongoing financial year," he added.
