Priyanshu upsets Chaliha, moves into men's singles final in PSPB tourney

Promising teenager Priyanshu Rajawat (IOCL) created a major upset as he ousted second seed Orijit Chaliha 10-21, 21-16, 21-13 to set up a title clash with Rahul Yadav (ONGC) in the men's singles of the 39th PSPB Inter Unit Badminton tournament at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy here on Thursday.
Yadav, number 1-ranked junior in the country,  routed number three-ranked Hirak Jyoti Neog 21-12, 21-10 in the other semi-final.
Priyanshu, who turns 17 tomorrow, lost the first game but came back strong and displayed a lot of flair in beating the experienced Chaliha.
In the women's singles, Uttejita Rao (IOCL) also had a comfortable run to the final. She overwhelmed Latha Kumari 21-6,21-15 in the first semi-final.
