Faridabad: Over 200 firecracker shops gutted in fire
A major fire broke out this evening at the Dussehra Ground in Faridabad, near here in Haryana, where a temporary market for selling fire crackers had been set up ahead of the Diwali festival.
Sources said more than 200 temporary stalls set up on the ground were gutted in the fire.
Faridabad police sources said about three or four people had been injured in the incident.
More than 20 fire tenders had been rushed to the spot to control the fire and they had been able to localise the fire and prevent the flames from spreading.
The entire ground had turned into an inferno for some time as flames leapt into the sky and the stocks of fire crackers exploded all over the place as the fire quickly spread from one shop to the other in no time at all.
