Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda today expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) central leadership would resolve the rift between former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and state party chief K S Eshwarappa.
Eshwarappa and Yeddyurappa, who were at loggerheads over the leadership issue, have been involved in a verbal duel in the past few days with the latter accusing Eshwarappa of conspiring to throw him out of the party.
The state BJP president and the Chief Minister have in fact met central BJP leaders L K Advani and Rajnath Singh in New Delhi recently to discuss the issue.
"Steps have already been taken to broker peace between the two leaders," Gowda told mediapersons on his arrival at Mangalore Airport to participate in several programmes in the district.
