5 RPF jawans suspended for looting, misbehaving with passengers

Five jawans of the Railway Protection force (RPF) were today suspended after they were found guilty of misbehaving and looting a passenger in the Jodhpur-Howrah Express.

The RPF jawans were the escort party of the train number 12308 which was on its way to Howrah.
"The incident occurred on Tuesday when the jawans boarded the train at Parasnath station of the East Central Railway under Dhanbad Divison and misbehaved with and looted about Rs 1,000 from a passenger," RPF sources said.
Victim Biswajeet Mandal after reaching Dhanbad lodged a complaint with the RPF post and was also administered medical aid at the Dhanbad Railway Hospital.
RPF commandant Shashi Kumar conducted an inquiry into the matter and, after investigation, found the five jawans guilty, following which they were suspended, sources said.
