Noted lawyer Raju Ramachandran to defend 26/11 convict Ajmal Kasab

The Supreme Court today appointed eminent lawyer Raju Ramachandran to defend Ajmal Kasab, the only surviving Pakistani terrorist involved in the November 26, 2008 terror attack in Mumbai.

Kasab has filed an appeal against the Bombay High Court judgement confirming death sentence awarded to him by the trial court.

As per the procedure, Kasab shall not be hanged till the final disposal of his appeal by the apex court.

Even after the disposal of his appeal Kasab can delay his hanging by filing a review petition , curative petition and finally mercy petition before the President of India.
