The family entertainer has been directed by R Balakrishnan (Balki), who had earlier made Cheeni Kum, also starring Amitabh Bachchan. The music has been scored by Illyaraja while the lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire. The cinematographer is P C Sreeram.
