L&T's Rajkot-Jamnagar-Vadinar road project in Gujarat commences commercial operations

L&T Rajkot Vadinar Tollway Limited (L&T-RVTL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Limited (L&T-IDPL), commenced commercial operations of the four-laned 132 km stretch of state highway (SH)-25 in Gujarat on February 1, the company said today.
The project is between Rajkot and Vadinar (via Jamnagar) and is for The Gujarat State Road Development Corporation (GSRDC).
The road traverses through the towns of Rajkot, Dhrol and Jamnagar and provides better connectivity to the industrial hubs of Vadinar and Jamnagar. This four-laning project is expected to accelerate the development and growth prospects in this region.
The cost of the project is Rs 10.96 billion, and the concession period for the project is 20 years (including the construction period). L&T-RVTL is entitled to collect toll from the users of the project highway during the concession period.

A press release from Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said L&T-IDPL has committed an investment of Rs 39 billion in three highway projects bid out by GSRDC. L&T-RVTL is the first to start toll operations, the other two projects Halol-Godhra-Shamlaji and Ahmedabad-Viramgam-Maliya are expected to start commercial operations shortly.
With the completion of this project, L&T-IDPL currently has eight operational projects in its roads portfolio, 8 projects under implementation, and 1 project in development stage. The portfolio of 17 projects is one of the largest in the country cumulating to a length of 7200 lane km, and a total project book size of Rs 170 billion, the release added.
