Suzuki reports 23% increase in January 2012 sales

Two-wheeler manufactuer Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd (SMIPL) today said it had registered a 23 per cent increase in its January 2012 sales figures as compared to the same month of last year.
A press release from the company said Suzuki, a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation of Japan, sold 35099 units in January 2012 as opposed to 28598 units in January 2011.
"Suzuki Motorcycles has maintained a consistent growth path over last couple of years," the release said.
“The year 2012 has started well with a good response from the market for all our products. The growing customer satisfaction has led to a positive word-of-mouth in the market. January 2012 was also very significant as we launched our mass market motorcycle, the Hayate, while the Swish 125 is an addition to the bestselling scooter Access 125," Atul Gupta, Vice- President, Sales and Marketing, SMIPL, said.
