Shaktikanta Das appointed Addl. Secretary in Dept. of Economic Affairs

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shaktikanta Das as Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.

 

Das, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1980 batch (Tamil Nadu cadre) is presently holding the post on in-situ basis.

 

He will succeed Loretta Mary Vas, IAS (UP:77), who was earlier appointed Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals.

 

The ACC has also approved the appointment of Jiji Thomson, IAS (KL:80), presently in the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Games, as Managing Director of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary vice Sneh Lata Kumar, IAS (MP:79), on her relinquishing the charge of the post upon completion of her tenure.
