S. Vijay Kumar to be Secretary, Rural Development

Subramanyam Vijay Kumar, presently Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development has been appointed as the new Secretary, Department of Rural Development.

 

Vijay Kumar, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1976 batch (Himachal Pradesh cadre), will succeed Birendra Kumar Sinha on his retirement on January 31, an official press release said.

 

Vijaykumar will, till then, function as Officer on Special Duty in the Department of Rural Development in the rank and pay of Secretary, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has decided.

 

The ACC also approved the appointment of Anita Chaudhary, IAS (HY:76), presently under compulsory wait in the Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development as Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Ministry of Rural Development vice Vijay Kumar, on his relinquishing the charge of the post.

 

The ACC aproved the extensio of Central deputation tenure of Padam Vir Singh, IAS (MP:77), Director, Lal Bahadur Shashtri Natinal Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, under the Department of Personnel and Training, for a period beyond 1.6.2012 and upto 28.2.2014 i.e. the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

 

The ACC approved the premature repatriation of V.Somasundaran, IAS (KL:79), Additional Secretary, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence to his cadre.

 

His place will be taken by Ashok Kumar Gupta, IAS (TN:81), presently Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence.
