Bharadwaj assumes additional charge as Governor of Kerala

Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj today assumed additional charge as the Governor of Kerala in place of M O H Farook, who has proceeded on leave, citing health problems.

Bharadwaj was administered the oath of office by acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court Manjula Chellur at a ceremony in Raj Bhavan.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, his Cabinet colleagues and top officials of the state government were present on the occasion.

Earlier in the day, Bharadwaj was given a warm welcome by Chandy and his colleagues at the airport. He was also accorded a guard of honour.
