GMR Energy commissions 25 MW solar power plant in Gujarat

GMR Energy Limited (GEL) today said it had commissioned its first 25 MW solar power plant in Patan district of Gujarat, marking infrastructure major GMR Group's foray into the renewable energy space.

The 25 MW grid interactive solar power project was executed through GMR Gujarat Solar Power Pvt. Ltd, a subsidiary of GMR Energy.
 
The project was awarded in October 2010 under the Gujarat Solar Policy, a press release from the company said here.
 
The plant adopts the crystalline photo-voltaic (PV) technology and is situated in the Solar Park set up by the Government of Gujarat, at Charanka village in Patan district.
