SAD nominates Pargat Singh from Jalandhar Cantt. in Punjab polls

The ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today announced its fifth list of eight candidates for the coming assembly elections in Punjab, including former India hockey captain Pargat Singh.

In a statement here, SAD Secretary and spokesman Daljit Singh Cheema said  the party had nominated Pargat Singh for the Jalandhar Cantonment seat. 
 
The other candidates announced in the fifth list are: Manjit Singh Manna (Baba Bakala-SC), PAC member Kirpal Singh Khirnia (Samrala), SGPC member Baljit Singh Jalalumsan (Jandiala-SC), Prem Mittal (Mansa), Sant Singh Brar (Gidderbaha), Kanwarjit Singh RoziBarkandi (Sri Mukatsar Sahib) and Darshan Singh Kotfatta (Bathinda rural).
 
The party had so far declared candidates for the 93 of the 94 seats it would contest in alliance with the BJP. The candidate for the remaining Nabha seat would be declared soon, he added.
