Indian worker falls to death in Sharjah

A 28-year-old Indian worker plunged to his death  while doing maintenance work in an elevator of a building in Al Shuwaihan area of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
 
The accident occurred at a residential building and the worker died on the spot after falling from the eighth floor, the Gulf News quoted the police as saying. The incident happened at 0900 hrs local time yesterday. 
 
"He suffered fractures and internal bleeding in the skull, which caused his death. The worker was fixing some technical problem in the elevator of a building," said a police official. 
 
The police official pointed out that deaths due to accidents at workplace have increased over the past few years. The worker was not identified in the report.
