R C Misra to hold additional charge as Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training to R.C. Misra.
 
Misra, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1976 batch (Orissa cadre), is the  Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare.
 
The additional charge is for a period of three months in place of Alka Sirohi, IAS (MP:74), who has been appointed as a Member of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), or until further orders, whichever is earlier. 
 
The ACC has also approved the extension of tenure of Gokul Chandra Pati, IAS (OR:78), Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, for a period of six months beyond January 6, 2012, an official press release added.
