Jaya surveys cyclone-affected areas in Cuddalore, distributes relief

A day after announcing an additional allocation of Rs 700 crore to take up relief works, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today visited the cyclone-ravaged Cuddalore district, made an aerial survey of the affected areas and distributed relief assistance to the people.;
 
Jayalalithaa, accompanied by senior officials, left for the coastal Cuddalore district by a helicopter from INS Adayar here and landed at the Anna Stadium there.
 
Before landing, Jayalalithaa made an aerial survey of the cyclone-hit Cuddalore town and later distributed relief assistance to the cyclone victims.
 
In her brief address at a function held at Subbaya Reddiyar Kalyana Mandapam, Jayalalithaa said the cyclone had caused extensive damages in the district and pointed to the Rs 850 crores her government had allotted for providing drinking water, water and other infrastructural facilities to the affected people.
