AP: Illicit liquor toll rises to 18, fresh cases reported

Even as the death toll in the illicit liquor tragedy rose to 18, fresh cases of people falling ill after consuming the hooch were reported today from Veduru Beedam Thanda in Mylavaram mandal, near Poratanagar Thanda, where the first incident took place two days ago in Krishna district.
 
Sources said as many as 12 people fell ill after consuming illicit liquor today. They were rushed to various hospitals in Mylavaram town and Vijayawada.
 
Meanwhile, the death toll in the Porata Nagar Thanda hooch tragedy rose to 18 as one more person died today.
 
The condition of four more victims was said to be critical.
