Veteran social activist Anna Hazare today said he was recuperating well and told his supporters that there was no need to worry about his health.
The anti-corruption crusader, who was admitted to a hospital here, wished everyone a Happy New Year.
"People are thinking that my health has deteriorated, but it is not so. It has improved considerably and I will get well within a few days. I wish everybody a very Happy New Year and request people not to worry regarding my heath," Hazare told people who were waiting outside the Sancheti Hospital.
Anna was admitted to the hospital today as he was not well for the past few days.
Talking to UNI, Dr Parag Sancheti said Hazare had been advised complete rest and instructed not to go on fast for at least one month.
"He needs complete rest and should avoid fasting for a month. Anna's condition is improving but he still needs rest," said Dr K H Sancheti of the hospital.
Hazare was admitted to the hospital after his condition deteriorated due to various ailments such as chest congestion, backache and cough that had dogged him even before he began his fast in Mumbai for a strong Lokpal Bill last week.
The 74-year-old Gandhian is suffering from severe chest congestion from last night.
He was admitted in a super deluxe ward of the Sancheti Institute for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Hospital today.

Dr Parag Sancheti said Hazare was on anti-inflammatory drugs, cough syrup and antibiotics.
He also said the Gandhian's health was improving fast but he would have to be in hospital for at least five days.
"We will not allow him to get discharge from the hospital till he recovers fully," Dr Sancheti told UNI.
Suresh Pathare, the personal secretary of Hazare, requested volunteers of India Against Corruption who have gathered outside the hospital as well as journalists not to disturb Hazare.
Hazare has not met his supporters or villagers ever since he returned from Mumbai because of his poor health, said Anil Sharma, the activist's personal assistant.
Due to his ill health, the two-day meeting of Team Anna's core committee members, scheduled to be held from tomorrow at his native village Ralegan Siddhi, near here, had been cancelled, said another of his aides.
