3 members of family die in road accident in Maharashtra

Three members of a family died on the spot when a truck in which they were travelling rolled down into a gorge near Deccan warehouse at Wadgaon Maval taluka on Old Mumbai-Pune Highway today.

Police Inspector of the Wadgaon Maval police station, P B Suryavanshi said three members of a family were going to Satara from Raigad district when the mishap occurred.
 
He said the empty truck was proceeding to Satara from Mumbai and it was illegally carrying passengers. The truck driver lost control over the vehicle, resulting in the death of three on the spot, he added.
 
The dead were identified as Bharat Gore (25), his wife Anita (22) and their son Omkar (2).
 
A case of negligent driving has been registered against the truck driver, who had fled from the scene after the incident, police said.
