The bodies of four villagers, who were kidnapped by Naxalites from Pipra Kanaudi under Simurtalla police station in Jamui district two days ago, were recovered today from Behrar village in neighbouring Banka district.

Jamui Superintendent of Police Ramnarain Singh said here that the bodies were recovered on the basis of information provided by local people.

"All the bodies were bullet riddled and had injuries caused by sharp edged weapons," Singh said, adding that the Naxalites had left a slip of paper in which they alleged that the killed villagers were thieves and were creating trouble in the area of Pipra Kanaudi in Jamui district.

He said a massive combing operation had been launched in the forest area nearby Chanan in Banka district with assistance of CRPF, COBRA jawans and local police to nab the Naxalites.

Naxalites had shot dead three members of a family and kidnapped the four villagers from Pipra Kanaudi in Jamui district two days ago.
