4 children crushed to death by truck in Gujarat

Four children of a labourer's family were crushed to death when they were run over by a truck near Ugat Chokdi in the Rander area of Surat in South Gujarat early today.
According to police, the truck was taking a reverse turn when it ploughed through the place at around 0430 hrs. The kids were fast asleep along with their parents and other labourers in an open ground near Ugat Chokdi in Rander area of the city.
Before others could realise anything, the truck driver fled the scene. The labourers rushed the kids to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced brought dead.
The deceased include Bina Balubhai Vasia (10), Chhaya (8), Satish (5) and Kiran (4).
According to Lilaben Vasia, the kids' mother, the truck driver drove the vehicle in reverse without blowing horn or giving any warning.
Police have launched a hunt for the unknown truck driver.
