Ace shuttler Saina Nehwal went down to China's world number one Yihan Wang to sign off as runner-up in the World Super Series Finals in Liuzhou, today.

Having become the the first singles player from India to earn a slot in the final in the World Super Series, the world number four lost the final encounter 21-18, 13-21, 13-21.

With this win, Wang kept her 100 per cent record against Saina intact, having now beaten her in all their four faceoffs so far.

The Chinese had the home advantage in her favour but it was Sania who took the early lead and took the opening game. The early momentum though failed Sania in the second game as Wang took an easy win.

The third and deciding game was a close contest at the beginning but Wang brought her top-game to the court eventually. She built a lead which eventually became too strong for Sania to catch up.
