Mild quake recorded in Sonepat on Delhi-Haryana border

An earthquake of slight intensity, measuring 2.6 on the Richter scale, was recorded in the Sonepat region on the Delhi-Haryana border this morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
 
The quake, which had its epicentre at latitde 28.5 degrees North and longitude 77 degrees East, occurred at 0718 hours today at a depth of 5 km, an IMD bulletin added.
