Andhra Pradesh govt suspends IAS officer Srilakshmi
Hyderabad, December 1, 2011
Senior Andhra Pradesh cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Y Srilakshmi, arrested in connection with the illegal mining case, was suspended by the State Government today.
The government took the decision after it received a note from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) about her arrest a few days ago for irregularites allegedly committed by her in granting mining lease to mining baron and former Karnataka Minister Gali Janardhana Reddy and his brother-in-law and Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC) Managing Director Srinvas Reddy.
Srilakshmi is likely to be produced in the CBI special court as her CBI custody ends today.
Earlier in the day, medical tests were conducted on her at the CBI office when she complained of sickness, according to sources here.
