Body of Anandpur Sahib SDM recovered from canal

The body of Anandpur Sahib Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karanbir Singh Mann, who had gone missing last evening, was recovered from Bhakra Canal at Kotla Power house near here this morning.
 
The body was found floating at the Kotla Power house, constructed on the canal, around 1000 hrs, and was later fished out.
 
The body was taken to the local civil hospital, where an autopsy would be conducted. The police have started investigations in the matter.
 
Mann had disappeared under mysterious circumstances last evening. His official vehicle was found parked near Bhakra Canal at Lamlheri bridge.
 
It was apprehended that SDM had jumped into the canal and committed suicide, sources added.
