The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) here has organised a retrospective exhibition of the works of K K Hebbar, one of India's seminal modern artists as part of the celebrations to mark his birth centenary.
The exhibition, titled "An Artist's Quest: K K Hebbar - A Retrospective" will be inaugurated this evening by Culture Secretary Jawhar Sircar, while renowned painter Krishen Khanna will be the guest of honour at the function.
This is the eighth retrospective organized by the NGMA as part of its endeavour to showcase the lifetime achievements of artists who have contributed their life in the field of art.
Curated by Rekha Rao, well known artist and Ms. Rajani Prasanna, art historian and also the daughters of K.K Hebbar, the exhibition brings together a large body of Hebbar’s drawings and paintings from every period of his life and traces the development of his thoughts and art through the years.
