Bye-election to Karnataka Legislative Council on December 12

The Election Commission today said a bye-election would be held on December 12 to fill up a casual vacancy in the Karnataka Legislative Council caused by the resignation of a sitting member elected by the members of the Legislative Assembly.
 
The member, N.Shankrappa, whose term of office was upto June 30, 2014, had resigned on October 14 this year.
 
According to an official press release, the notification for the bye-election will be issued on November 25 and the last dat for making nominations is December 2, 2011 Counting of votes will be taken up at 5.00 pm, after polling, on December 12.
