Dacoits loot passengers of GT Express near Dholpur
A gang of dacoits robbed passengers of the Gwalior-bound GT Express of cash, ornaments and other valuables after injuring five of them yesterday.
The train was on its way to Gwalior from Delhi via Agra when the robbers boarded it from Dholpur, police and railway sources said today.
The outlaws resorted to firing and assaulted the passengers as soon as the train reached the outskirts of the city.
The miscreants shot at three passengers, beat up two others and looted around Rs 1 lakh in cash and ornaments from the terrorised passengers, the sources said.
Later, the dacoits stopped the train at the Chambal bridge by pulling the chain and fled with the booty into the ravines of Chambal.
The injured passengers - three with bullet injuries - were admitted to hospitals in Morena and Gwalior, the sources said.
Four Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel, who were on duty on board, have been suspended, they added.
