Air India introduces daily Gwalior-Mumbai flight
National carrier Air India today introduced a daily flight between Gwalior and Mumbai with an Airbus A-319 aircraft.
The inaugural flight was flagged off from the Rajmata Vijaye Raje Scindia Civil Terminal at Gwalior by Civil Aviation Minister Vayalar Ravi and Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia.
Air India Chairman and Managing Director Arvind Jadhav and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
The daily flight AI 421/422will be operated on the route Delhi-Gwalior-Mumbai and return with the 122-seater Airbus A319 with a dual configuration of 8 Executive class and 114 Economy class seats.
Flight AI 421 from Delhi to Gwalior will depart Delhi at 1400 hours and reach Gwalior at 1440 noon, take off from Gwalior at 1505 hrs and reach Mumbai at 1635 hours. The return flight AI 422 will leave Mumbai at 1500 hours and arrive in Gwalior at 1630 hours, depart from Gwalior at 1655 hrs and reach Delhi at 1735 hrs.
"The introduction of this much needed flight will link the two important cities and facilitate the movement of business and leisure travelers," an Air India press release added.
